Resumen en otro Idioma | It was determined presence of specific antibodies against murine viruses: Pneumonia (PVM), Sendai, Lymphocytic choriomeningitis (LCM), Hepatitis (MHV), Minute (MVM) and Reovirus-3 (Reo3). Serum samples were taken from mice at the Bioterio of the Instituto de Investigaciones Veterinarias, CENIAP-INIA, Maracay, Aragua state, Venezuela, using ELISA test. One hundred and sixty eight mice were sampled, 84 weaned and 84 adults, from CIV, NMRI and CF1 mice strains. Prevalence values were: MHV, 97.96%; MVM, 66.7%; Sendai, 8.9%; PVM, 6.5%; Reo3, 4.2% and LCM, 2.4%. Incidence of MHV was different and higher than MVM (P<0.05). Both were different (P<0.05) than Sendai. Sendai was similar to PVM and Reo3, but higher than LCM. There was only a significant difference (P<0.05) between animals of different age for MVM viruses with values of 78.6% in adults and 54.8% for weaned animals. There was no differences between weaned and adult animals to the viruses MHV (95.2 and 100%); Sendai (8.3 and 9.5%); PVM (4.8 and 8.3%); Reo3 (1.2 and 7.1%) and LCM (4.8 and 0%). These results indicated significant differences (P<0.05) in viral prevalence among strains CIV, NMRI and CF1, with values of 12.5, 1.7 and 5.4%. There was no significant difference between mice viruses and strains when other viruses were studied. Prevalence of these viruses in the Venezuelan population studied showed the same characteristics in Brazil, Europe and USA. It is concluded that there is a presence of specific antibodies to PVM, Sendai, LCM, MHV, MVM and Reo3 viruses. There was different prevalence in age for MVM and strain for PVM. |
