A coffee farmer of the Venezuelan Andes presents a huge skin defect of the nose accompanied by a destruction of the nasal partition. The diseases started 10 years ago.

Lethal midline granuloma

In this the nose is completely destroyed and necrotic. The disease developed seven months earlier with a rhinitis. Later, bleedings and ulcers started, without any response to the medical therapy. After being hospitalized heavy bleedings occurred and the patient died. No autopsy could be performed.

After the diagnosis was made by biopsy, the specific treatment was performed and the patient improved constantly. Only a small skin defect remained and required final surgical treatment.
