Abstract
La ocupación territorial de la Región de los Valles del Tuy (RVT) ha obedecido geo-históricamente al aprovechamiento agrícola y a las bondades fluviales del Tuy. Sin embargo, a raíz de la relación periférica con Caracas desde la década de los 50’s, se dibujó un patrón de ocupación territorial no planificado ni organizado, originando una diversidad de problemas socio-ambientales que vulneran su desarrollo urbano. Este trabajo descriptivo-documental expuso a nivel municipal y en el periodo 2001-2011, variables físiconaturales, socio-económicas, e infraestructurales, contrastadas y procesadas en mapas temáticos y bibliográficamente sustentados, con el fin de cumplir con el objetivo de exponer dichas condiciones y proponer lineamientos para una nueva gestión pública en la Región, circunscritas a las políticas públicas orientadas en la agricultura urbana

| Resumen en otro Idioma | The territorial occupation of the Region of the Valleys of the Tuy (RVT) has obeyed geo-historically to the agricultural use and to the fluvial benefits of the Tuy. However, as a result of the peripheral relationship with Caracas since the 1950s, a pattern of territorial occupation was created that was neither planned nor organized, originating a diversity of socio-environmental problems that violate its urban development. This descriptive-documentary study exposed at the municipal level and in the period 2001-2011, physicalnatural, socio-economic, and infrastructural variables, contrasted and processed in thematic and bibliographically supported maps, with the purpose of fulfilling the objective of exposing said conditions and propose guidelines for a new public management in the Region, circumscribed to public policies oriented in urban agriculture |
