Abstract
El Cementerio El Espejo de la Ciudad de Mérida es patrimonio cultural del Estado. Espacio
indispensable para el resguardo de la memoria colectiva. Sin embargo, sus condiciones actuales
reflejan la ausencia de políticas públicas encaminadas a su mantenimiento y recuperación, por ello
se hace imperativo la creación de una guía para su gestión en aras de su reinterpretación como
equipamiento urbano multifuncional que considere el valor histórico, el aprovechamiento de los
bienes patrimoniales, las tradiciones fúnebres y la pluralidad de cultos a fin de consolidar un
espacio donde converjan los muertos y sus familiares, turistas, adultos mayores, artistas,
académicos y la comunidad.

| Resumen en otro Idioma | The El Espejo Cemetery of the City of Mérida is a cultural heritage of the State essential for the protection of collective memory, however, its current conditions reflect the absence of public policies aimed at its maintenance and recovery, therefore it is imperative to create a guide for its management for the sake of its reinterpretation as a multifunctional urban facility that considers historical value, the use of heritage assets, funeral traditions and the plurality of cults in order to consolidate a space where the dead and their families, tourists converge , seniors, artists, academics and the community. |
