Abstract
El incesto siempre fue una prohibición social y religiosa. Es una violación y un tabú religioso. Pero en algunas ocasiones el incesto es lícito; en la formación de la sociedad divina dentro de la mitología griega y otras mitologías. Incluso entre las realezas de algunas sociedades antiguas el incesto fue permitido como medio de crear un grupo de poder endogámico.
En la mitología griega las relaciones sexuales incestuosas son frecuentes entre hijos y madres, padres e hijos, entre hermanos o primos o entre tíos y sobrinas. Son los ejemplos de Edipo, Sísifo o las Danaides.
