El problema de la obesidad y la necesidad de un paradigma emergente

La ciencia, es generalmente catalogada, como una búsqueda de conocimiento, que lleva a comprender la naturaleza de las cosas. Los científicos, usan el
término paradigma, para explicar su ciencia. En el campo de la salud y en particular de la Nutrición y Dietética, los investigadores de esta disciplina,
han creado productos e incorporado nuevo alcances, sin embargo, uno de los grandes desafíos del siglo XXI, para los estudiosos y científicos de esta área,
ha tenido que ver con el desarrollo de enfermedades crónicas como la obesidad, vista tanto en sociedad de económicas desarrolladas, como en las emergentes.
Algunos investigadores, han centrado su atención en los aspectos biológicos de la enfermedad y el tratamiento de sus causas inmediatos, sin embargo sus
acciones, a corto plazo, alivian el problema, pero no atacan los orígenes más estructurales del mismo. Esas tendencias, indican la necesidad de revisar
nuestra forma de ver el problema. Es importante entonces cuestionarse si la necesidad de empezar a traspasar paradigmas en este campo de la nutrición
es necesario. Este es un debate interesante e imperativo para los miembros de la comunidad científica que investigan en el área.

| Resumen en otro Idioma | Science is generally classified as a search for knowledge, which leads to understanding the nature of things. Scientists use the term paradigm to explain their science. In the field of health, in particular of Nutrition and Dietetics, researchers in this discipline, have created products and added new scope, however, one of the great challenges of the XXI century, scholars and scientists to this area, has been associated with the development of chronic diseases such as obesity, seen in both developed economic society, as in emerging economies. Some researchers have focused on the biology of the disease and treating its causes immediate, yet their actions in the short term, alleviate the problem, but do not attack the structural origins of it. These trends indicate the need to revise our view the problem. It is therefore important to question whether the need to start moving paradigms in the field of nutrition is needed. This is an interesting debate and imperative for members of the scientific community that research in the area. |
