| dc.description.abstract | La formación tecnológica en Venezuela se ve recuperada
y reivindicada en el gobierno del presidente Hugo Chávez.
Con el lanzamiento de las Universidades Politécnicas Territoriales,
en fecha 16 de julio del año 2010, comentando
el decreto de creación de las primeras 6, el presidente expresó
que estábamos “triturando el paradigma de la universidad
elitesca” y dijo sentirse feliz porque sabía cómo
se habían “subalternizado” los institutos universitarios
tecnológicos. En este momento 11 institutos y colegios universitarios se han transformado en nuevas instituciones concebidas con postulados particulares. | es_VE |

under the government of President Hugo Chávez.
By the date of the creation of the fi rst six Territorial Polytechnic
Universities (July 16, 2010), President Chávez
said that “we are destroying the paradigm of elite universities”.
He said he was happy to see that polytechnic
institutes and colleges would not be set aside any more.
Currently, eleven polytechnic institutes and colleges have been transformed into new institutions with new and special
