The slide of this case was sent to us from India for consultation. It was thought that the large cyst with endospore-like bodies could be a sporangium of Rhinosporidium seeberi in the case of a perianal fungus infection. Cases of this kind have been published in the literature. Apparently no sporangium is present, because the internal bodies of this cyst-like structure do not show the typical endospores as shown in one of our pictures. This means that in this case no Rhinosporidiosis with an anusual localization can be diagnosed.
