| dc.description.abstract | Se presenta un constructo interpretativo sobre la obra del reconocido filósofo venezolano Gabriel
Ugas Fermín, titulada “Epistemología de la Educación y la Pedagogía”, a veinte años de
su primera edición. (2005). Se considera que la obra conserva vigencia académica y pertinencia
social, por lo que se discute el texto con el fin de contribuir a su difusión. Se planteó analizar
el alcance de la epistemología en la educación y los elementos que constituyen su dinámica
en relación a dos aspectos esenciales: el poder y la ciudadanía. El profesor Ugas, examina la
interconexión entre epistemología, educación y pedagogía. Propone una pedagogía crítica y
un currículum que promueva la igualdad social. Destaca la necesidad de formación del docente
como investigador de los procesos educativos, utilizando un enfoque hermenéutico crítico en
la investigación. Esta reflexión se enmarca en nuestra perspectiva de contribuir al estudio sobre
el cumplimiento del derecho a la educación en general y se extiende a la educación en economía
social en particular.

| dc.description.abstract1 | An interpretative construct is presented on the work of the renowned Venezuelan philosopher
Gabriel Ugas Fermín, entitled “Epistemología de la Educación y la Pedagogía” (Epistemology
of Education and Pedagogy), twenty years after its first edition (2005). It is considered that
the work retains academic validity and social relevance, so the text is discussed in order to
contribute to its dissemination. It was proposed to analyse the scope of epistemology in education
and the elements that constitute its dynamics in relation to two essential aspects: power
and citizenship. Professor Ugas examines the interconnection between epistemology, education and pedagogy. He proposes a critical
pedagogy and a curriculum that promotes social equality. He stresses the need for teacher
training as a researcher of educational processes, using a critical hermeneutic approach to
research. This reflection is framed from our perspective as a contribution to the study on the fulfilment of the right to education in general
