Abstract
La investigación tiene como objetivo fundamental realizar un análisis de los elementos políticos, económicos y sociales presentes
en la sociedad en el momento de la llegada de los jesuitas a tierras hispanas, con la finalidad de mostrar, a través de un análisis
sistemático y riguroso, el aporte que ellos han dejado a lo largo de la historia en cada uno de los territorios que conforma la geografía
de Venezuela en donde han estado presentes; principalmente en la ciudad de Mérida, en particular con la creación de la Casa de Ejercicios
Espirituales San Javier del Valle Grande, durante los años de 1950 hasta 2010.2
