| dc.description.abstract | La autora presenta un trabajo histórico-etnológico sobre la presencia de los judíos sefarditas en España y América. Uno de los hechos importates que junto con los quinientos años del descubrimiento de América se conmemorará el próximo año es el Edicto de Expulsión de los Judíos de España. Este acontecimiento produjo grandes cambios en la Península Ibérica. El aporte sefardí en todos
los campos de la vida española es uno de los aspectos que se intenta destacar en este artículo. La Diaspora Sefardí hacía la América Hispana es un hecho muy poco estudiado en parte, por desconocimiento del tema y en parte también por la escasez de documentación bibliográfica y de archivos. Sin embargo a pesar del poco material disponible se han podido presentar algunos aspectos que arrojan

| dc.description.abstract1 | The author presents a historical and ethnological study of the presence of sephardic jews in Spain and América. One of the important events which will be commemorated next year together with the five hundredth annivesary of the Discovery of America is the edict of Expulsion of the Jews from Spain. This event brought about great changes in the economic and socio-cultural situation of the Iberian Peninsula. The Sephardic contribution to all facets of life in Spain is one of the aspects of the subject that this article attempts to bring out. The Sephardic Diaspora toward Spanish America has been very little studied, partly out of ignorance of the subject and partly from the scarcity of bibliographical material or recods. Nevertheles, in spite of the scant material available, some elements are presented which throw light on Sephardic Immigration to the Ameican colonies. | es_VE |
