| dc.description.abstract | El Kebra Nagast es un texto apócrifo recuperado por la Iglesia Ortodoxa
Etíope. A su vez, es una de las referencias centrales en la interpretación
Bíblica de los Rastafaris en Jamaica. En el marco de un interés más general
por las tradiciones religiosas afroamericanas, particularmente en el caso de
los Rastas, nos acercamos al Kebra Nagast para comprender de primera mano
las posibilidades y alcance de este texto. En un primer momento tratamos de
rastrear las señales del Etiopianismo en Jamaica desde finales del siglo XVIII,
para luego discutir los temas del Kebra como continuación de una cierta tradición

| dc.description.abstract1 | The Kebra Nagast is an apocryphal text recovered by the Etiopian Ortodox
Church. At the same time, it is central to the understanding of the biblical
hermeneutics of the Rastafarians in Jamaica. Within a greater frame of interest
in the Afro-Americans religious traditions, particularly in the case of Rastas,
we approach the Kebra Nagast in order to understand the possibilities and scope
of the text. We initially trace the footprints of Ethiopianism in Jamaica since
the end of the XVIII century, and then discuss the Kebra as a continuation of
