dc.description.abstractEn este artículo revisaremos la gestión gubernamental emprendida, durante el bienio 1890-1891, por Laureano Villanueva en calidad de Presidente del Grande Estado Carabobo, nombre ofi cial adoptado por la entidad entre 1881 y 1893. Tal valoración de la obra de gobierno de Villanueva, en su primera Administración presidencial en Carabobo, se hará a la luz de un conjunto de políticas entendidas entonces, en el contexto de la Venezuela liberal del último tercio del siglo XIX, como expresión del ofrecido progreso económico, social, cultural y material; entre ellas: paz y orden público; organización administrativa y estadística; benefi cencia, sanidad y asistencia social; instrucción pública; agricultura y fomento en general.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1In this article, we revise the public governance carried out during the biennium 1890-1891 by Laureano Villanueva as President of the Grande Carabobo’s State adopted by the entity between 1881 and 1893. This judgement about Villanueva´s government, in his first presidential administration in Carabobo, it will present through a group of policies understood under the context of Liberal Venezuela, during the last third of 19th century, as expression of the offered progress in different areas: economic, social, cultural and material; among them: peace and public order; administrative and statistical organization; welfare, public health, social assistance; public education; agriculture and policies of development.es_VE
