dc.description.abstractLos hitos fundamentales en la construcción del estado-nación, permiten comprender cómo la historia venezolana, desde el siglo XIX hasta el presente ha transitado caminos espinosos. Estas páginas hacen un recorrido crítico sobre el papel de las mentalidades en el proceso de construcción de lo nacional. Al mismo tiempo, revelan la manera en que cada generación encaró su tarea constructiva como una forma de vencer el pesimismo. En el recorrido hemos visto cómo la prédica ideológica ha ido en un sentido y la realidad ha marchado por otro; el país sigue buscando su cauce sin renunciar, pese a los autoritarismos de turno, a las prácticas de regularidad legal, probidad administrativa, ciudadanía, educación, libertad y cultura.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1The milestones in the construction of the nation-state, allow us to understand how Venezuelan history, from the nineteenth century to the present, has gone on thorny path and diffi culty. These pages are a critical overview on the role of attitudes in the construction process of the national conception. At the same time, this work describes how each generation faced its constructive task as a way to overcome the pessimism. Over history we have seen how the ideological preaching has gone on a different direction from the reality; in spite of some stages of authoritarianism, the country is still seeking its course without surrendering regularly practices legal, administrative probity, citizenship, education, freedom and culture.es_VE
