| dc.description.abstract | El presente estudio es un
acercamiento al conocimiento del
tratamiento que recibieron los sectores
menos privilegiados de la sociedad
colonial venezolana, en los debates
constituyentes y primera Carta Magna
promulgada en diciembre de 1811. En
ella quedará plasmado la igualdad
de legal de los pardos, consideración
de ciudadanía natural a los indios y
negativa de libertad a los esclavos,
como consecuencia de la defensa
de los más caros privilegios de los
blancos criollos que pugnaban por la
independencia, y mayoritariamente
representados por los diputados del

| dc.description.abstract1 | This paper is an approach to
the knowing of the treatment that
received the less privileged class of
the Venezuelan colonial society in
the constitutional discussions and
in the Constitution promulgated in
december 1811. This Constitution
have guaranteed the legal equality of
the mulattos, the natural citizenship to
the indians and the refusal of freedom
to the slaves, as a consequence of
the defense of the most important
privileges of the creole white
people, who were fighting for
the independence, and who were
represented in the main part by the
