| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | This paper is the project for a more lengthy dissertation concerning the area of prosody in religious ritual. The objective was to identify a pattern which would permit us to characterize prayer as a linguistic phenomenon. For this purpose we use the methology of the AMPER Project and the taxonomy of fundamental tone proposes by Fernandez Planas and Martinez Celdran (2003). The prosodic aspects fall under two heads: duration and intonation. The unit analyzed was the syllable. Intonation analysis determined the existence of a superficial structure H* in the pretoneme and a structure H* and L+H* in the toneme. Rhythm analysis determined the existence of a regular rhyme (P+G*) +P and G*+P in the pretoneme and a regular rhyme P+ (G*+P) y P+G* in the toneme. This research shows that the syllabic rhythm is very important in the ritual speech of the Andes. | es_VE |
