dc.description.abstractEl objetivo principal de este trabajo es analizar la relación entre el concepto de grupo estratégico y el desempeño empresarial en la industria farmacéutica española. Para establecer los grupos estratégicos hemos seleccionado una muestra de 45 laboratorios farmacéuticos y hemos utilizado variables propias del sector para el período 2000-2003. Los resultados nos revelan que no existen diferencias entre las agrupaciones obtenidas y los niveles de desempeño económico, mientras que al considerar los resultados ajustados por el riesgo asumido por las empresas hemos confirmado la existencia de diferencias entre los grupos estratégicos.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1The main objetive of this paper is to analyse the relationship between the strategic group concept and the performance of the Spanish pharmaceutical industry. To establish the strategic groups we selected a sample of 45 pharmaceutical laboratories and we used variables characteristic of the sector for the period 2000-2003. The results reveal that differences don´t exist among the strategic groups and the economic performance levels, while when considering the results adjusted by the risk assumed by the firms we had confirmed the existence of differences between the strategic groups.es_VE
