The Grocott stain shows the multiple budding of the yeast cells of Paracoccidioides brasiliensis. This so called "steering wheel" form of fungal cells in tissues occurs very exceptionally in other mycoses and allows diagnosis of this fungal infection. Magnification 1000 X.
