dc.description.abstractEn su diálogo República señala Platón cuatro formas de gobierno distintas a la forma que él propone: el primero y más importante que es la aristocracia del saber; viene luego la descripción de los demás sistemas de gobierno, empezando por el impropiamente aristocrático, que hemos llamado aristocracia de sangre, y continuando con la timarquía o plutocracia, el régimen oligárquico, el democrático y el tiránico. Se refutan asimismo en este trabajo la crítica de Karl Popper en cuan-to al carácter antidemocrático de Platón, así como la de Jonathan Wolff, quien con-sidera que la recomendación del especialista para el ejercicio del gobierno es otra manifestación del desprecio de Platón por la democracia.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1By his dialogue "Republic" Plato points out four forms of government, which are different from the form he proposes: the first and the most important of them is the aristocracy of knowledge; then it comes the description of other sys-tems of government. Starting with the improperly called aristocratic government, which we have called blood aristocracy, he follows with the timocracy or plutocra-cy, and then he continues with the oligarchic, democratic and tyrannical regimes. The criticism by Karl Popper's about the non-democratic thinking in Plato is also disproved at the present article, as well as that of Jonathan Wolff, who considers another manifestation of Plato's contempt for democracy the thinking on the phi-losopher as the ideal person to govern.es_VE
