dc.description.abstractEl Siglo XXI se inicia en el apogeo de la era digital. Las ciencias de la tierra y la tecnología de la información o informática se unen para lograr la integración sistémica de técnicas y metodologías de captura, almacenamiento, procesamiento, análisis y representación gráfica de información geográficamente referenciada. Esta integración da origen a una nueva disciplina conocida como Geomática o Geoinformática que integra las técnicas de percepción remota y los sistemas de posicionamiento global y de información geográfica utilizando un amplio rango de recursos para medir y describir la Tierra.El proyecto apunta hacia la creación de una nueva carrera en la Facultad de Ingeniería de la Universidad de Los Andes, para formar Ingenieros en Geomática.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1In the XXI Century begins the apogee of the digital era. The earth sciences and the technology of information or computer science are combined to obtain a systematic integration of techniques and methodologies on capture, storage, processing, analysis and graphical representation of geographically referenced information. This integration gives origin to a new discipline known as Geomatic or Geoinformatic which integrates the techniques of remote sensing, and the global positioning systems, and geographic information using a wide rank of resources to measure and to describe the earth. The project aims towards the creation of a new degree program in the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad de Los Andes, to lecturing Geomatic Engineers.es_VE
