| dc.description.abstract | Este artículo analiza las dos interpretaciones que la disciplina histórica ha forjado sobre María Sánchez (“Mariquita”), dama patricia argentina que vivió
entre 1786 y 1868. La primera de ellas, es la más tradicional e idealizada, la de la historia patriótica oficial, mientras que la segunda, más moderna pero
no menos idealizadora, está inspirada por los estudios de género. El objetivo de este trabajo, es brindar una interpretación más objetiva y neutra de este
personaje, prescindiendo del proceso de mistificación del que ha sido objeto. Se intentará demostrar que la “verdadera” María Sánchez, fue más austera y
convencional de lo que han creído hasta hoy los autores que la abordaron, y que además, su figura sugiere más interrogantes que seguridades. | es_VE |

| dc.description.abstract1 | This article analyzes the two interpretations that History, as a discipline, has made of María Sánchez (‘Mariquita’), an Argentine patrician lady who lived
between 1786 and 1868. The first interpretation belongs to the official patriotic history and is the more traditional and idealized while the second one,
inspired by gender studies, is more modern but is as idealized as the previous one. The goal of this work is to offer a more objective and neutral
interpretation of this historical character, avoiding any mystification. This article will try to prove that the ‘true’ María Sánchez was more austere and conventional than the character reconstructed by the majority of authors, and that this woman inspires more questions than answers. | es_VE |
