| es_VE |

| dc.description.abstract1 | Th e so-called Th ird World front that identifi ed Venezuelan diplomacy during the government of Rafael Caldera (1969-1974) and that was deepened during that of Carlos Andrés Pérez
(1974-1979) will decline during the decade (1979-1989), which corresponded to the
governments of Luis Herrera Campins and Jaime Lusinchi. Th is was due to the crisis produced by external debt and the political disaff ection proper to the 1980s, which made it be called
“the lost decade.” Th is decline did not forestall the active diplomacy of Venezuela against the opprobrious apartheid regime, concern with the Namibian crisis, and the establishment of bilateral relations. | es_VE |
