dc.description.abstractSe determinó la actitud de los estudiantes del último año de Licenciatura en Educación de la Universidad de Los Andes hacia el Virus de Inmunodeficiencia Humana /Síndrome de Inmunodeficiencia Adquirida (VIH/SIDA). Es un estudio descriptivo, de campo y comparativo. Participaron 268 estudiantes de la Universidad de Los Andes, en las sedes de Mérida, Táchira y Trujillo. Se aplicó un instrumento validado por la OREALC/UNESCO. La actitud conductual y cognitiva de los estudiantes reportó diferencia estadísticamente significativa entre las sedes de Mérida y Trujillo, la afectiva entre las sedes de Mérida y Táchira. El 78,7% de los estudiantes manifestaron no tener suficiente información para trabajar en la prevención del VIH/SIDA. En la sede de Mérida recibieron más información sobre el VIH/SIDA en su institución, seguida por la sede Táchira y la de Trujillo. El 98,0% de los estudiantes universitarios encuestados consideraron necesario trabajar el tema de prevención del VIH/SIDA, mostrando una actitud con tendencia medianamente positiva en su componente conductual en las tres sedes, con predominio en la sede de Mérida.es_VE

dc.description.abstract1The attitude of the students majoring in Education towards the Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) at University Los Andes was determined. This was a descriptive comparative field study in which 268 students of the University of Los Andes participated, at the campuses of Mérida, Táchira and Trujillo. The instrument used was validated by OREALC/UNESCO. The behavioral and cognitive conduct of the students reported a statistically significant difference between the campuses of Mérida and Trujillo. 78.7% of the students stated that they did not have enough information to work on HIV/AIDS prevention. At the campus of Mérida, they received more information about HIV/AIDS; in the second place it is the campus of Táchira, and in the third the one in Trujillo. 98.0% of the college students considered it very necessary to work on HIV/AIDS prevention, showing an attitude ordinarily positive in their behavioral component at the three campuses, predominantly at the campus of Mérida.es_VE
