| dc.description.abstract | El objetivo del presente trabajo es presenta una visión crítica de la historia del riego en Venezuela. Destacando sus limitaciones y potencialidades. Se hace un inventario de los recursos hídricos disponibles, en el país con fines de aprovechamiento de riego, posteriormente, se describe la evolución del riego en Venezuela, indicando el total de tierras bajo riego, así como los tipos de sistemas de riego implementados en el país. Como conclusión se destaca que, a pesas de haberse logrado un incremento del área regable y contar con una infraestructura de riego importante en el país, problemas institucionales, de planificación, operación y mantenimiento han limitado el desarrollo de la agricultura bajo riego en Venezuela. | es_VE |
