occidental. | es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | This document develops the notion of negative
mimesis included in the Instructions for writing a
Dada poem published with the Dada Manifestos
in 1918 by Tristan Tzara. One of its articles details
the steps for creating poems with words cut out of
a newspaper article so that anyone can become an
avant-garde writer. This exercise puts an end to
the role of the author and mimicry voices in the
Western literary tradition, making the author the
executor of a program whose purpose is to suspend
aesthetic judgment in order to place the core of
creative activity at random.
This text establishes a tension with the canon
pronounced by Aristotle in his Poetics and with
Raymond Roussel’s port of surrealism. Thus,
the negative mimesis of the historical Vanguards
and especially of Tristan Tzara will reveal a new
attitude towards aesthetics, towards history, and
towards the ideologies that form the basis of our
