| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | Our reading on the Legend of the Tatuana, of young Asturias, allows us to discover beyond the story, the dialectic between Mesoamerican and Judeo- Christian culture, with emphasis on the mythical Mayan discourse, the metamorphosis of Master Almond, Mayan priest and the symbology of the tree; all this is based on the Popol Vuh, among other codices. The distribution of the Master’s soul is explored which, from the unexpected, generates the story; as well as the diff erent exchanges of the Master’s soul and its recovery; the mythicalpoetic correlations leading to the fatal destiny of the Merchant. The soul of the Master with the poetic word is highlighted: the slave, bought with her soul, always quiet, spoken by others. Word released through the tattoo of the ship, a kind of hieroglyphic as poetic and subjugated writing of the Mayan people, “in the name of God and the King.”The feminine fi gure is revalued from the abjection as a sorceress or witch, to become a liberated and authentic word of a people from its mythical past. | es_VE |
