| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | The journal Race Today was published between 1969 and 1988 and it is an outstanding chronicle for the study of how the second generation of British blacks won the rights that England had denied those immigrants from the Caribbean, Africa and Asia who had settled in that country after World War 2. This article shows how the editors of that journal contributed to the confrontation of English racism by means of an activism which used the energy of young blacks, both employed and unemployed, as an instrument for the transformation of the social order of the time. Likewise, this article will provide a brief panorama of how Race Today, wanting to facilitate a multiethnic and postcolonial imaginary, laid the groundwork for the dissemination, promotion and consolidation of Dub poetry in the English speaking territory. | es_VE |
