| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | Dentoalveolar traumas are a major cause of emergency in dental services, ranging from
simple fractures of enamel, avulsions, and fractures of alveolar processes. Treatment begins with
the completion of a detail clinical history in order to establish the diagnosis and perform the necessary
procedures to restore function and aesthetics. It is the case of a 15 year old patient who
suffered a motorcycle accident presenting a dento-alveolar injury with a diagnosis of fracture of
the mandibular alveolar process and avulsion of tooth 21.This was treated by rigid splinting with
surgical wire of 0.3 mm diameter and composite. The followed was by eight weeks during the splinting and at six months after withdrawal of the same. The outcome was favorable and concludes
that immediate attention, appropriate treatment dentoalveolar trauma and proper monitoring, the affected tissues return to their morphological function. | es_VE |
