Resumen en otro Idioma | The Syrian regime is faltering. Th e revolt that began on 15 March has spreads throughout the country: the protesters are demanding freedoms and the end of the authoritarian state. Opting for repression, the Syrian regime demonstrates its inability to answer the wave of democratization that animates the Arab world, which has already caused the downfall of Ben Ali in Tunisia and Mubarak in Egypt. Instead of adopting an agenda of reforms, as required by the Syrian people, President Bashar al-Assad has denounced an international conspiracy against the last bastion of Arabism. |
