Dr. Rómulo Alvarado Diaz was born 1932 in the island of Toas in the State Zulia of Venezuela.

He studied Medicine at the University of the State of Zulia and at the Central University in Caracas graduating 1958 as "Médico Cirujano".

His postgraduate formation (1958-1961) took place at the "Instituto Oncológico Luis Razetti" in Caracas.

He was then contracted as Professor of Surgery 1961 from the University of the Andes in Mérida / Venezuela and was later promoted to "Profesor Asociado".

In Philadelphia / USA he continued his postgraduate studies 1967/ 1968 and at the Memorial Hospital of New York / USA he studied Oncology !968/1969.

Later he was "Cirujano adjunto Especialista II" at the University Hospital in Mérida until l998.

In the University he was pensioned 1987 as associated professor.

From 1992 until today he is President and Founder of the "Sociedad Anticancerosa de Mérida". During his activities he had numerous posts in the Administration, Education, and Professional Organisations.
