| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | Western Sahara is a Non-Self-Governing Territory, therefore pending decolonization. Spain, which submitted it to colonial domination since 1884, remains, in accordance with International Law, the Administering Power of the territory, and hence rather than being the Administering Power of Western Sahara, Morocco is its Occupying Power: its legal status is similar to that of Israel in the occupied Palestinian territories. However, far from complying with its international obligations, Spain’s successive democratic Governments have supported the position of the occupying State under the fallacy that it holds a position of “active neutrality.” | es_VE |
