| es_VE |

dc.description.abstract1 | The case of Rafael Bolívar Coronado is extraordinary in the history of Venezuelan literature. Quite apart from the signifi cant fact that Bolívar Coronado authored the lyrics of “Alma Llanera”, he enjoyed the distinction of being the Venezuelan writer with the most pseudonyms. His zeal for concealment was so great that he used more than 600 pseudonyms, most of which appeared in the Venezuelan press in the early 20th century. Thus, Bolivar Coronado’s work is our inspiration for refl ecting on intellectuals and authors and their use of the pseudonym in Modernist Venezuela. Consequently, this historiographical documentary will use the work of Rafael Bolívar Coronado as a point of departure to identify the relation, on the one hand, between the author’s function, stemming from the hermeneutic-discursive communities, and on the other, their social conditions as contexts of production. Finally, we will show how plagiarism was a recourse used to transform the conditions of artistic production during the death throes of Venezuelan Modernism and was also a precursor of that current of criticism which proclaimed “the death of the author”. | es_VE |
