Información General: Centro de Investigaciones Etnológicas (CIET) Universidad de Los Andes The Center of Ethnological Research (CIET) was born out of the Center of Anthropological Research of ULA's Ganzalo Gonzalo Rincón Gutiérrez Archaeological Museum. It has had a legal existence since 1995 having been officially recognized by the Scientific, Humanistic, and Technological Development Council (CDHT) and the University Council of ULA. CIET has four principal areas of research-instruction, which are the product of the dynamics which existed before its creation: Ethnology and Social Anthropology, Archaeology, Geography and Regional History, Ethnolinguistics-Anthropolinguistics. To these areas, a fifth is added which is guided by its research group: Bioanthropology.
